Ricardol
My friend has a HP dv6110us laptop and has recently upgraded the ram to two sticks of corsair vs1gsds667d2 (1g cards). When he installed it with the original hardrive it worked fine, but he also wanted to upgrade his hardrive. So he got a WD 160g sata, we installed the new hardrive and kept getting errors during the install, blue screens:eek: . We took out the corsair and it installed fine no quirks. After the install we reinstalled the corsair sticks and periodically are getting blue screens mainly when the power is unplugged. Also if you try and start the computer on battery power it starts to boot then goes to that blue screen. We originally went to the Corsair site and did a config for memory on this machine and we bought the recommended product. HELP..... Please... Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios for your Notebook and then load setup defaults and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing. If they both pass install both modules and load setup defaults and then test them for two or three passes with http://www.memtest.org.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2007 You can down load the ISO Image file and burn it to CD. And just let it boot to the CD it will run automatically.
Ricardol
Tried the iso, wouldn't work?????
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2007 You have to use the Burn Image command in your CD Recording software, if you just drag and drop the file then thats what you get the image file burnt on the CD and it will not be boot able. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 19, 2007 Please power on the laptop with no RAM installed and leave the system on for 30 seconds, then pull the battery and AC and install Corsair RAM by itself. Please let us know if it works.
Ricardol
I tried this procedure, did not work, when you boot from battery power it goes into the blue screen. But when I boot with the original ram cards it works fine, ???????

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 19, 2007 Just to make sure I understand, one module will work either module, is that correct? Just happens when you have both of the new modules installed VS1GSDS667D2?
Ricardol
When I put the two original factory Ram cards (512's) in, it works fine, but when I put the two 1g corsair cards in it doesn't work. That is why we got the two corsair cards to bump up to 2g's. I will try the corsair cards individually on battrey power, to see if they work that way. Ricardol
O.K. I tried both of the Corsair cards individually found out that one of the cards does it and the other seems to work fine at this point. I am going to leave in the one that is working well and see how it does over a longer period of time.
