Willis
I've read through the archive here and have not found anybody with the problem I have. I have an 8GB Voyager GT and it is very fast and works 100% in Windows XP. However, there is a small quirk when using the device with Vista. The first time I plug the device into a machine, it will fail installing/recognizing the USB Mass Storage Controller driver. At that point, if I remove the drive and re-insert it, it will work every time on that specific computer indefinatly. Problem is that it does this on EVERY SINGLE new Vista machine I use it with. I work in the PC Setup & Repair industry, so I use my flash drives all the time. This is not specific to certain Vista machines, it is on all of them. I have tried formatting the drive to FAT, FAT32, and NTFS, all have had the same results. Anybody seen this issue before or have any advice? Edit: Also, I am not using any encryption software or anything of that nature.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 13, 2007 Yes I have seen this reported before, but we have not been able to reproduce it in our lab. But if you just install the driver manually from //Windows/system32/Drivers it should install and run properly.
Willis
Well, it never even asks to install a driver, it just says it fails. As soon as I remove it and plug it back in, it will work with that machine indefinitely with no user intervention. My qualm with this is the amount of new and different machines I use the drive with. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 13, 2007 Then you can go to Device manager and find the device in Device manager and update the driver manually. But you have to be logged on as an administrator.
