lilthrift
Hi, I bought a pair of Corsair CM2x1024-6400 on 11/06 and I have never been able to get one of the sticks to work with my MSI 975x Platinum board. I have only been using one stick since then. If I pop the other one in on any BIOS settings it will not post or system comes to a crawl with memory errors. I have tried changing to diff BIOS settings to no avail. If I pop just the bad module the system does the same thing. I have concluded it is a bad stick. It has taken me a while to get someone to loan me memory so I may send both pairs back for replacement. Please advise on what I should do as far as RMA? Thank you! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 12, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
lilthrift
Thanks RAM guy but I have already performed your suggestions. I have the latest BIOS, timings are set correct and memtest runs perfectly on one stick but not the other. I installed them individually and ran the tests. I have used your post to initiate a RMA. Thanks!:sunglasse
