CAS Timings

The memory I have now is no longer produced by CORSAIR. I Have Model #: CMX512-3200 Memory. 2 Sticks of 512. I bought #: TWINX1024-3200C2PT. Both Model Numbers Derived from Newegg, the only place I saw that had both Memory sticks. I placed the four sticks into my motherboard, an A8N-SLI DELUXE. Now I booted my PC and it crashed. About 50 Times I rebooted, crashes following, at random intervals, hence random reboots. I then realized the CAS timings are different. I then manually set them in BIOS to have the same CAS settings, to the slower RAM. This stabilized the system for approximately 1-3 hours before it would crash, random reboot. I then used Memtest86+ and it said it found errors with all 4 DIMMs in. I then checked my old memory alone with Memtest86+, no memory in either set of DIMM slots. I then attempted the same with the new memory, and recieved errors in both DIMM slots. The errors were recieved both with the manual override settings and the auto settings set in BIOS. The system WOULD random reboot with only the new memory in the system. I then checked memory from a friends system of a different CAS setting AND brand, and the computer had no problem with them. What could my problem be?

First thing with this MB and or platform all of the modules would need to be exactly matched both in part# and in revision. In addition, with four modules you may need to run the memory frequency at DDR333 depending on the CPU Core you have installed and you would need to set the Command Rate to 2t as well. And I would set the timings to Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.8 Volts.

The first thing to do would be check the modules and make sure they are all the same revision. (How To Read the Memory Label)
