jaredmeadows
My machine started randomly crashing to restart intermittently, most often when I played games, but sometimes when just surfing the net. I also had problems getting software to install/patch because of MD5 checksum errors. After replacing the DVD-rom, IDE cable, swapping SATA cables and ports on the HDD I started looking at memory. I tested using the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool that starts up from an .iso, and tested each module individually and the stick failed, I think the test in particular that it failed on was the inverse coupling test. I removed that module from the machine and haven't had any more problems.
