ExWxFlyer
Looking for help or warranty return OK for one of two 1G XMS 3200 modules I've been running in my system for about 15 months. Crashed during Flight Sim X, then reboot was followed by series of rapidly increasing number of memory errors and finally a crashed installation of XP. Troubleshooting has led to Memtest86 v3.3 testing with both modules installed and then each by itself--determined that one of the modules is bad. Good module ran fine for nearly two hours of testing. Bad module will boot, but memtest errors start racking up right from start of the test. Same when both modules are installed. Have updated BIOS and checked settings per Corsair website info. System had been rock solid until this. Running Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe w/ AMD X2 4400+. BIOS Ver 1016. Any other ideas or is it time for RMA? Send both modules or just the bad one? Thanks! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
ExWxFlyer
I have the latest BIOS installed, followed all testing instructions, including disabling Legacy USB Support as directed. Still same result--one module works fine, the other starts racking up 100s of thousands of errors in memtest from the moment it starts. Will now go to the "Bad part" instructions. thx, ExWxFlyer
