corsair07
Hi guys, my problem is that my computer has been crashing randomly lately so i ran memtest 86+ to see if the ram is causing it. It popped up with 2 errors, the ram I'm using are the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4PRO when those errors popped up the timings were manually set to 4-4-4-12. Ok, so i reverted back to the stock SPD settings 5-5-5-18 and ran memtest again and 0 errors popped up, but my computer still ramdomly crashes. So my questions are has anyone else had these issues?, should i be concerned about the 2 errors that popped up? Could my ram sticks be fault or just timing issues? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 9, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 9, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. OK, I'll try that, so i'll just set it to 4-4-4-12 with the voltage at 2.1 and leave the rest of the mem settings on auto?. How do i find out what voltage its running at currently? I would thinks its the stock voltage, so whats the stock voltage my board will be running it at? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2007 The memory Voltage might be listed in the Hardware Monitor section of the Bios other wise they only way would be with a VOM Meter. And with GigaByte you have to set the memory voltage to +.3 Volts.
