Bad RAM, what now?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

first sorry for my bad English. Second: My RAM is bad.

It's a Corsair XMS PC3200 DDR CMX512-3200XL. (1 x 512 MB module)

I Have errors in Memtest and GoldMemory, also when I copy files from one HDD to a second HDD.

I tried the RAM on two diffrent systems:

1. AMD 64 3700+, DFI nF4 Expert 939, (orange ram slots)

2. AMD XP 2600+, ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe

What to do now?

Greetings from Berlin, Germany.

Hello RAM GUY.

One month and six days have passed, since i sent my RAM to Corsair, but i didn't received any return/reply. Could you give me some information about the process oder give me an e-mail adress?

best regards, Eugen

Hello RAM GUY,

today finally the memory arrived. I was surprised that two modules were in the package (thanks for that), but then I saw that instead of the 3200XL only 3200C2 modules were inside. I assume that the 3200XL is not any longer produced, is that right? But schouldn't the exchange be equivalent (or better) than the purchased product? Or is the exchange equivalent/better in this case due to the 2 modules?
