Cas Latency on AMD Systems...

Recommended Posts

I replaced my old CORSAIR TWINX1024-3200C2 with CORSAIR TWINX2048-3200C2 PRO, cause I've read that the PRO Series run on AMD-Systems with an Cas Latency on 2.5, but it doesn't do it on my System.

If take a look on my system with 'siw', it displays an CL Mode on 3-3-3-8 by SPD.

Should I change the values manually in the BIOS ?

Currently the value is by SPD in the BIOS.

In case I change the values manually, which values are recommended ?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe

p.s.: please excuse my bad english, but I pledge betterment...

The SPD of 3200C2s are indeed set to 3-3-3-8.

Change the timings to:

CAS Latency (tCL): 2

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

Row Precharge (tRP): 3

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6

Memory Voltage: 2.7-2.8 Volts (Warrantied up to, but not over, 2.90 volts)

All other settings to defaults.

The CAS 2.5 was only for ATHLON XP systems.
