Looking through the info on this site I haven't seen this one addressed but maybe I missed it. My apologies if I have.

MSI 975x Platinum motherboard not posting on bench with:

-Antec SP-400 PSU

-Radeon X1300pro

-Corsair CM2X1024-5400C4 xms5402v5.2

...but mb DOES post with other DDR2 stick (Corsair VS512MB533D2) so I could tweak bios settings to try to post with first stick if so instructed. Or RMA it? Your advice much appreciated!

The power supply does not provide a sufficient amount of power, that is most likely why you are able to run at lower frequency. I would suggest a power supply that provides a minimum of either a single 28AMP +12v rail or two 16AMP +12v rails.

Thanks for your thoughts. But MSI specs show lesser PSUs are usable and now that the weekend is over I contacted MSI support and at this point their tech is also saying that it looks like a bad stick. Anticipating such, I've already gotten RMA authorization from the vendor so after a replacement comes in we'll see how it goes.
