CMX512-3200XL PRO : 1 bad stick

Recommended Posts

I have 2 modules of TwinX CMX512-3200XL PRO and my computer is unstable.

I separately tested sticks and for one of them, MemTest gives me lots of errors (more than 100).

I tested the modules on an other computer and they failed too.

My computer :

MSI K8N Néo4 Platinium (last BIOS)

Athlon 64 3700+ (FSB =200MHz, X11)

2*512 Corsair 3200 XL PRO (I tested 2-2-2-5 timing and 3-4-4-8 and none of both passed Memtest)

WD Raptor 36Go

Point Of View 7800GTX 256Mo

Thanks for your help!

edit : I tested the stick with different DDR voltage between 2.6V and 2.8V

Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
