Twin2X2048-8500C5D memory errors on Asus Striker

Recommended Posts

Help I am getting memtest errors on my Twin2X2048-8500C5D 2GB and my Asus Striker Extreme with the latest bios (I also tried an older bios).

I can't run at 1066 without overvolting, and I get errors at 800 (with no CPU overclocking). I have tried the Auto settings as well as 5-5-5-15 2T with no improvement. I am running at 2.2 volts and have unsuccessfully tried up to 2.4 volts. I am not using SLI, and I have a PC Power and Cooling 750 watt power supply.

Can you recommend any settings to improve reliability?

Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.2 volts and then set SLI Ready Memory to CPU-MAX, then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
