bbpent
Asus P5W DH Deluxe Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz 6600 Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Twin2X2048-6400 Windows XP 32-bit I cannot get the system to boot with both DIMMS in the mobo. They are in the correct slots as the motherboard book says. If we put just one of the two gigs in the board it boots fine however it is only in single channel mode and recognizes only 5400. I would like to run at the full capability of the RAM and in dual channel mode. I am not interested in over clocking unless that is the only way to solve the problem. I have read as much of the other posts as I can. Thanks. Any suggestions? I think that 1 of the 2 sticks is bad because I inserted the good one into A1 ans B1 Orange and Black and it boots either way according to manual, however the other stick will not boot the sys in either slot. Since I bought it in a matched pair do I return both or only the bad one?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 6, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 6, 2007 With these modules and this MB you would need to manually configure the Voltage and timings. I would make sure that you have the latest bios and set the voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the timings to the tested settings and test them with http://www.memtest.org.
