Bad Ram

Sandflea2

Recommended Posts

I have 2 sticks of CMX1024-3200C2.

After tons of errors in my WIndows XP and trying to reformat and reinstall the OS I finally swapped the 2 sticks of Ram for the same type of known ram. This cured the problem. No matter what I did it would not work properly. I purchased this ram back in April of 2006 and had no problem with it up to 3 days ago when everything went wacko. Once I swapped out the ram I was able to reinstall Windows XP and it's been running fine ever since.

The errors I was getting were:

unable to load \windows\system32\config\system

Or

I could not copy files from CD to the system without getting errors that the file copy did not complete properly. Also almost everything I tried to copy with a rescue cd to a pen drive came out corrupted. I have filled out the RMA form. Looking forward to the Response.

Thanks!

Bill B.

Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
