HX620W Power Supply DOA?

JDP2003

Recommended Posts

I have just built a new system using a HX620W Power Supply and an eVGA 680i Motherboard. When I flip the power switch, the motherboard LED lights up, but nothing else. No Fans spin on the power supply or the PC. My keyboard lights don't flash or light up. Performed test of power supply by disconnecting everything from power supply except one case cooling fan, and then shorting black and green wires on 24 pin power supply connector. Case cooling fan didn't spin.

This leads to my question. I picked this up from Newegg.com. I went to RMA for a full refund, due to the DOA status. They informed me that there will be a $25 charge. Not to sure if it is just easier just to RMA to Corsair for a replacment. and wait a few weeks for a working computer.

Any help or thought would be great!

Great Info RAM GUY!!!

I should have never doubted the great products of Corsair!

After trying what you stated above it looks like I had a Bad Power on button on my case.

I must have not had a clean connection when I tried to short before.

Anyways thanks for the great help!
