Problems with CMX2048-3200C2 Kit

Hello!!

I´ve got serval problems with my CMX 2048-3200C2 Kit.

1. The Motherboard reads the wrong timings from the ram, so they set auto at 3-6-6-12 2T. When I try to set them to 2-3-3-6 1T I got a lot of failures in memtest.

2. The Ram doesn´t work with 400Mhz. When I set this clock manually (autoclock sets it at 266Mhz!!) my pc doesn´t start.

3. I´ve tried the ram on a different motherboard and had the same problems again.

My system:

Amd Opteron 165

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (Final Bios 1016)

XFX GeForce 8800 GTS

Hello Ram Guy,

I´ve send you an email because I couldn´t write a reply yesterday. I can´t activate my account because the confirmation mail gets lost or anything else.

About your questions:

1. I didn´t mix the modules with other ones. All those failures appear with this two sticks.

2. I´ve tried different slots, singel channel, dual channel - nothing works - windows doesn´t start or when it starts I posts bluescreens after a few minutes.

Additional:

-At the moment my system is working with my old memory (2x XMS-512-3200 XL) without any problems, so I think my problems could only be caused by the memory.

Best Regards from Germany!

edit: Ok account activation works now ;)

Please load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB when running any memory test.
