Hello,

I m french and apologize for mypoor english!

Well, i use corsair ram since around 5 years in all my case and case i made for my friends. I m quiet a poweruser and specialized in hardware.

I never met any problems with corsair memory until:

last december, i got problems with a cmx 1024 3200 c2pt modul. Plenty of memtest3 errors even in 166mghtz mode at any poor timings i tried.

As i wanted to be sure before post it to corsair usa, itried in another board. the same. push vcc to 2.8, the same.

So... the december 20 2006 i asked a rma

december 31 corsair received my request

juanary 3 2007 rma has been essigned. (R217358)

i post my ram around the january 8

(i paid around 35 euros to post it...)

february 1 2007, UPS delivery from corsair.

UPS ask me 27.55 euros !!!

additional charge + VAT

I don t undestand why i had to paid this for a life time warranty product...

Anyway, i have my ram back.

I plug it today and i get a HS module too. (i m afraid it s the SAME ram corsair send me back)

I m more than disapointed.

I don't want to pay 35 euros to re post. 35+35+27.55+27.55 is more expensive than the ram's price...

It was the first time i used the corsair warranty. i know and dealed seagates, asus, msi, maxtor, mitsubishi, netgear, and gygabytes warranty. First time such a problem i meet.

please, tell me ur opinion.

Thx

I am sorry about that it was my understanding that all of the shipping fee's are to be paid by us. However, I know some countries still want to charge some duty or tax for this service. I have sent a message to our customer service manager and asked that we look into this and see if there is anything that can be done.

Can you tell me the FSB of your CPU? Is it a 166 FSB or 200 FSB and what are the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory?

I c...

abit nf-s 1.2

I have a xp barton 3200 + fsb 200 mhz.

2.2 ghz (200*11)

memtest error with spd timing in bios as i said in my fisrt post

Of course i tried default timing in expert mode too (6/3/3/2)

FSB ratio 1/1 (200mhz)

memtest error even if i donwclock the ram...

i tried also with an a7n8x motherboard. The same.

I think u send me the same modul...

Please with just our XMS module installed and reset the bios with the Clear CMOS jumper and then enter the bios setup, load setup defaults and set the following settings:

CPU Freq: 200 MHz

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%/1-1

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz

Memory Timings: Manual/User Define

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

And the modules should be in slots 2-3 skip the first slot.

Did you test the modules one at a time?

??? of course !

And is this a 200 FSB 300+ or are you over clocking?

O/C with Setup defaut ???

I have a XP 3000+ Barton FSB400

the front side bus is 200mgz (but u are the "ram guy"...)

I don t understand why all this. The problem is really simple, isn't it ?

Should i post more pics ?

I m impatient to read you.

What was your RMA number please?

I would be happy to arrange another RMA for you and have you send them directly to my attention so I can test them personally!

RMA : RMA# R217358

So, after all this, you advice me to send again to USA (35 euros, around 40 dollars) and pay 27.55 euros (around 35 dollars) VAT to UPS again ?

So this first time i need help from corsair it cost me 35 + 35 + 27.55 +27.55 = 125.1 euros (around 150 dollars) for a 1Go modul ?

Is that the usual way corsair use to solve problem with a customer whose spend around 4000 euros in corsair memory since 2000 ? i made around 45 PC with corsair memory .i still have all invoice...

but anyway, i m impatient to read CORSAIR 's opinion.
