XMS Xperts not posting at Cas 2.5 Problem

Recommended Posts

Ram Guy,

My old system stopped working so I switched motherboards, from a Biostar N4SlI-A9 to an Asus a8n32-NF4SLI deluxe. I have 1 gig(2X512) of XMS Xperts version 3208 v1.2. One stick is dead and the other is acting funny.

My problem is when I set the CAS latency to 2.5 or 3, I cannot go into Windows. The motherboard will restart. The only way I can get into windows is if I set Cas latency to 2.0.

With two sticks in, the motherboard will not post. My Vdimm is set at 2.85Volts. I'm sure one of the stick is dead. Can you help me with warranty?

Thank you for your Help.

Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
