620 & 4,8 mobo power connector

My mobo has an 8 pin power connector so that is what i used. Now there is a permanently connected 4, 8, & 24 pin on the 620. I left the 4 pin unused and used a modular 4 pin for my 8800gts. My thinking was that the 4 & 8 permanent pins are off the same rail so I wouldn't want the mobo & gpu on the same rail.

 

Is that right or could i use the permanent 4 pin for my gpu?

The video card should be a 6-pin, not a 4-pin, and the keying is different.
