TWINX2048-3200C2PT DDR400 XMS3200 went bad

Recommended Posts

I built a media center system with the Corsair memory and everything worked fine until a few days ago when it just went blank. It happened in the middle of trying to play a DVD via the media center. During a reboot, the POST diagnostic LED pointed to a RAM failure and the BIOS beep codes pointed to a RAM failure. It never made it to a screen. I reset the CMOS and tried getting to BIOS by holding down the insert key at boot-up, but didn't work. The error was instant. I removed the 2 sticks of RAM that were setup for dual channel in the yellow slots (1,3) and placed one stick in slot 2 (orange slot furthest away from CPU) and no go. I borrowed a stick of RAM from a buddy and system booted fine. Nothing is or was overclocked, btw. I would like to RMA the matching pair of RAM for a new set.
