department27
Hi, I bought a 4 Flash Voyager in August last year. Up until yesterday it has worked perfectly. Now it seems to have a problem. I cannot store more than 2Gb of data on it without it crashing. I blue light flashes and then just dies before the copy falls over. I have reformated it using the utility program but this has not fixed it. The drive was bought in the UK, and the retailer will not do anything about it. Any help on what I can do would be appreciated. Pete
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2007 Pete, Please try and open a Dos prompt and format the drive using this syntax: Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) Then the file or files you sre trying to copy is it one big file or multiple files? department27
Hi, I tried the format you suggested. Still have a problem. As to the second Q, it's about 1.9GB of digital pictures, and a couple of hundred meg of mp3. It formats ok, and even wrote the data ok at one point. Then when I tried to copy the data back to another XP machine it started and then fell over with read/write errors. Never had this problem till yesterday. Had a look at the disk, and it's formated as FAT32. Also I copied a smalled amount of data, which seemed to copy OK. THen when I tried to copy it back to another machine it fell over again. On a single file. Tried agian and then it was a different file. If this was a normal HD I would say the disk is having sector problems.
