Minnyboy
Hi ramguy & others heling the forums out... I recently bought myself a pair of CM2X1024-6400C4 kit for my own personal use... The onlt reason i bought this kit was because I believed that the 6400C4 were all based on Micron chips... What i ahev found out recently was that I bought some duds or was very misinformed about the product from you guys.. Ihave had various difficulties running these RAM at their rated speed on my E6600/P5W DH mobo... They refuse to run at their rated speeds... i would like to get these sticks RA & get the sticks I originally paid for.. If I had know that i was buying some sticks that: A:) weren't Micron based B:) could not run at DDR2 800 I would not have bought them... Now whenever I try to set my RAM at DDR2 800 @ 4-4-4-12, my PC cannot boot... It will only boot if I have it set at 533/667... Now if I had known that, i would've saved myself 200AUD & bought some generic RAm... Can i please get my sticks RA for proper ones that do DDR2 800 @ their rated speeds pls... I started by buying the CM2X1024-6400 twinX but was able to exchange (plus add in the diff in costs) for the Cm2X1024-6400C4 cos I was under the impression that Corsair was using Micron chips for the C4 range... No i wouldn't care too much if I was able to run 6400C4 @ 4-4-4-12 but I cannot even get past 667 @ 4-4-4-12... BTW, the codes on my RA are: Stick 1 - CM2X1024-6400C4 - XMS6404v2.1 - 0627070-1 - 10042269 Stick 2 - CM2X1024-6400C4 - XMS6404v2.1 - 0627070-1 - 10042270 thanks, Minh MA

Minnyboy
thanks, I have contacted corsair RA department for these sticks of RAM... Everything has been taken care of & I am in the process of shipping them to Corsair for these problems... As I said b4... I actually brought the "Normal" CM2X1024-6400 but changed them to the C4 versions (after adding in the extra AUD$100) because I was thinking that I was getting Micron chips... All these damn review sites say that the ones I bought used Micron chips, hence the reason why I "upgradd" from the CM2X1024-6400 to the 6400C4 version... Mighty expensive to buy these RAM because they used Micron chips only to find out they used some bodgey Promos or so & to top if off; they don't even run at spec... Oh well... I stayed away from Corsair for a while but recently gave them another try... i also have 2 x 512MB Kit DDR400 TwinX3200XL... I think I am getting duds again cos even they aren't running well anymore.... My luck with Corsair just sucks... edit: the sticks aren't actually CM2X1024-6400C4 but they are the twinX kit...
