Youngguns
Greetings. All my componants have now arrived for another build and I'm planning on assembling them tomorrow. Would you please offer your expertise/input on what bios settings seem to be working out beyond the standard defaults? New build basics will consist of: Asus P5B (vanilla) Mobo Cosair Twin 2x2048-5400c4 E6300 Core 2 Duo Antec TX640B with Smart Power 400 WD Caviar RE WD2500YS BioStar GeForce 7300LE Dell LCD I have reviewed your tested settings listed below and noted that it doesn't specifically apply to my Mobo configuration: (Asus P5B) Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-5400C4: Motherboard make and model: ABIT AA8 Durramax and/or Asus P5AD2 Premium Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings: CPU External Frequency: Manually set to 250MHz DDR2 SDRAM Clock: Manually set to 533MHz DRAM Timing Selectable: Auto Yields the following timings SDRAM CAS Latency: 4T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 12T DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 1.9 NB Voltage 1.9 Volts (On Abit AA8 Only) All other settings are motherboard defaults. Maximum DDR2 recommended VDIMM: 2.1 Volts Any Specifics you could start me out with for my setup would be appreciated. Thanks
DerekT
Hi, These settings are specific to your motherboard. I have set your CPU FSB to run 1:1 with your 5400C4 DRAM. Configure System Frequency/Voltage AI Tuning - ManualCPU Frequency - 270MHzDRAM Frequency - DDR 667MhzPCI Express Frequency - 100MHzPCI Clock Synchronization Mode - 33.33MhzSpread Spectrum = DisabledMemory Voltage - 2.1vCPU Core Voltage - AUTOFSB Termination Voltage - AUTO North bridge Chipset Configuration Memory Remap Feature = DisabledConfigure DRAM Timing By Spd = DisabledDRAM CAS# Latency = 4DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay = 4DRAM RAS# Precharge = 4DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge = 12DRAM Write Recovery = 6DRAM TRFC = 42DRAM TRRD = 10Rank Write to Read Delay = 11Read to Write Precharge Delay = 14Write to Precharge Delay = 10Static Read Control = Disabled Download Memtest from http://www.memtest.org and burn the image to CD. Boot to the CD and allow the program to test for memory errors. If no errors are found in a few passes, then download Orthos Prime. http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/385 And run this program for ~6 - 8 hours with Small FFT's. If you are stable here then you are good for the go :)
Youngguns
I gladly took you advice and configured the bios with your posted settings and also updated the original MOBO bios. I ran memtest and Orthos small fft's and everything seems A-OK. I did want to ask you about the Dram Frequency that you outlined. You said 667MHZ & my option was 675MHZ. Can I assume that this setting is correct? Also I have some questions about the low v-core voltage @ 1.11 but I have already sent you a post on my other build's thread which encompasses that question. I will wait for your replies. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2007 I did want to ask you about the Dram Frequency that you outlined. You said 667MHZ & my option was 675MHZ. Can I assume that this setting is correct? DRAM Freq: should 667 MHz Also I have some questions about the low v-core voltage @ 1.11 but I have already sent you a post on my other build's thread which encompasses that question. I will wait for your replies. CPU V-Core will vary for the specific core of CPU you have, look up your CPU's S-Spec on Intel's site and see what the Max CPU V-Core is for your CPU!
