Skippman
I have a set of TWINX2048-3200C2PT that I'm attempting to use on my Abit motherboard. I've made certian I'm using the lastest BIOS build, the correct timings, and that the system has proper ventelation yet it still reboots randomly and fails on Memtest. I've even gone as far as to hook up a dedicated two fan RAM cooler to it and still suffer the same problem. Also, the memory sticks are hot to the touch after about 1 hour of use. Any ideas or do I need an RMA?
Wired
When you've tested them, was it using the latest version of memtert86+ (v1.70)? Also, what timings / voltage were they tested at, and did you test one stick at a time?
Skippman
I used the BIOS default timings and voltages. Lowering the voltage resulted in having to reset the BIOS to get into it. I did use the latest memtest. Booted straight from CD. I have not tested one at a time, but both sticks are hot to the touch. I will try that tonight as well as post memory timings and voltages. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
