Copyman83
For PC specs, check the above dropdown menu. I’m having problems with my Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 memory kit. Memtest86+ and Memtest Windows return errors when my memory is running at 667MHz or 800MHz. When I manually set the DIMM frequency to DDR2-533MHz (FSB:DRAM = 1:1), both Memtest versions pass the tests without errors. Despite the Memtest errors at 667Mhz or 800MHz, the system, windows and games run just fine. Luckily I have a friend at a local store who lend me a pair of Cr*c*al 1GB DDR2 PC5300 CL5 modules, which don’t return errors in Memtest86+ when running at 667MHz. Is this a memory-, motherboard- or BIOS settings problem? Note: the Asus P5W DH Deluxe has the latest 1707 BIOS.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2007 When you were testing with http://www.memtest.org did you disable legacy USB in the bios? If not please do that and with this MB you should set the memory frequency at 667 MHz and if you want to run at 800 MHz on the memory I would try over clocking your CPU. Copyman83
Yes, legacy USB support was disabled at all memory tests. I'm not planning to overclock my CPU, so this is not an option. What could be the problem here?

Copyman83
Sounds good, but I need my computer for school and work. Shipping the memory from Holland to the US takes some days, testing takes a few days and shipping new modules to Holland also takes some days. This can take up to two or three weeks, which is quite long when you really need a computer. Is there another way, sending a proof of purchase for example? Ps. when reading your posts, the memory should work just fine (without memtest86+ errors) at 677MHz and 800MHz?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2007 On the MB you have I would suggest setting the memory frequency at 667 and over clock the CPU to get the memory to 800 MHz. Will the system pass http://www.memtest.org with the memory set too 667 Mhz?
Copyman83
When I set the frequency to 667, I get several memtest errors. These are the memtest results at different frequencies: 533MHz: no memtest errors667mHz: errors appear periodic800mHz: a lot of errors appear CPU wasn't overclocked and Legacy USB was disabled.
