Hi all,

Ive spent hours on the net to find a solution for my problem and this is the last thing i try before i buy a new set of memory.

The problem : I bought some new parts for my pc:

Processor : Intel Pentium D 945

Motherboard : ASUS P5VD2-VM

Memory : 2x VS1GB667D2

Its all working flawless except for one little (for me veeeery big) thing.

When i try to repair rar files with quickpar i get the message : Checksum Error : Probably Memory Failure.

I tried all kind of timing versions (don't know what the correct timings are) and i have the latest bios version flashed. Every f*@ing time i get that stupid message and my files can't be repaired.

Can please, please, somebody help me with this?

Does somebody know what the exact timings are for this setup?

Kind regards,

R.

Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

Hi, tnx for your support, i did the memtest... and get NO errors.

Ive got the latest BIOS, for sure!

Formatted my pc, clean install.

Same problems

But where can i change the Dim Voltage? I looked everywere in my BIOS. Nowhere to find.

Kind regards,

With a 800MHZ FSB CPU you should run the DDR Freqeuncy at 533MHZ with this motherboard.

1066(Support Intel® Core™2 Processors only) / 800 / 533 MHz

Memory 2 x 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. 4GB, DDR2 667/533/400 MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered memory

CPU:DRAM Ratio for motherboard

1066MHZ:667MHZ

800MHZ:533MHZ

533MHZ:400MHZ

Give it a try and see if you get the same errors.

Tnx Legend,

But now running on 533, same problems... :[pouts:

If you can tell me where to change my Dim voltage, thats the last thing i will do. Otherwise i just give up. Tnx for helping me out here!

Regard,
