vulcan1909
Hey,well i just built my computer and everything went flawless until i tried to dual channel my ram. When i put together the P.C i only put in one stick of the ram so i could install windows and get it up and running easier. Well as soon as i try to dual channel the 2gb xms2 ram one the computer will no longer post, it would just turn on and id see no video. I tried every combination of slots on my p5b board and when i noticed nothing was fixing it i knew something was wrong. I immediately tried testing just the second piece of ram by itself. Voila, it didn't work in any of the slots. I immediately tried testing the same slots with the first ram and it worked perfectly. So now i know im gonna rma but is it possibly i only send in the one non working piece of ram from the kit? It will have all the stickers, case and everything. The thing is i really need this computer to stay running for school and i have no extra ddr2 ram lying around. If you could that would make my life WONDERFUL :) Thanks for your time Josh. vulcan1909
well the thing is i bought a kit of 2 1gb sticks from newegg. One of them works and i need it to operate my computer and i have no extras ddr2's around. If i want to return one of them do i haev to return both since i bought it in a kit? I would love to only return one of them because the other works and i need this computer working. So my main question is can i rma just one of the rams from the kit? noname_007
Can you get an RMA from newegg? I think you can even have them cross-ship the replacement for you, so you system is not down for even a day. Even if not, you will probably get the replacement faster from Newegg than trough Corsair RMA. If you have dual kit, it is recommended to replace both modules, to make sure they work well together. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2007 Yes you can talk to Newegg, its up to them on how they can or will process that type of request, but if they will not or cannot help you, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them or it.
