psyshack
I purchased two sticks of CMX512-3200C2PT yesterday from PcClub. Both sticks are very unstable in otherwise known to be stable systems. Ram is a upgrade for folding machines. First stick is: CMX512-3200C2PT XMS3202v5.2 0553114-0 Second stick is: CMX512-3200C2PT XMS3202v2.2 0330048-0 These stick's has been tested in a Abit NFS v2, MSI 7030, Asus P4P800-E At default speeds in the AMD rigs with 2.5/3/3/6-7-11 I get failure in memtest. Ive ran voltage from 2.7 to 2.85. Legacy USB on and off. Have also turned on and off any AGP setting that could induced issues. At default speeds in the Intel rig I get failure in memtest using the above method running 2/3/3/6-7 If I overclock at all the ram gives millions of errors. :) Almost funny to watch. :D: I I even try to run it in dual channel the Abit and Asus boards wont boot. So Ive put all my old ram back into there respected machines. Reset to there overclocks. So Im now here. The ram was purchased to be used in the MSI 7030 machine. It currently has Patriot 256x2 DDR 400 in it set to 2/3/2/5, 2.85v. With a old Athlon 64 2800+ CO step running naked with the heat spreader off at 2.6 ghz on air. Its a 24/7 folder. Rock stable and my main desktop rig. I was wanting to run the new ram in question in this machine, single channel. And move the Patriot to the NF7-S v2. The Patriot is also very stable in that machine and offers up a blistering overclock. Ive test both sticks of ram together and separate. I knew I wouldnt archive a overclock like the Patriot offers. But didn't expect issues at default speeds. Thank You Jeff Townsley

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 Can you tell me the exact bios setting you tried? And did you reset the bios and load setup default with the new modules?
psyshack
Can you tell me the exact bios setting you tried? And did you reset the bios and load setup default with the new modules? Seeing that I purchased the ram strictly for the MSI 7030 Neo Plat. Ive been focusing my efforts on making it run in this machine this morning before I went any further with the RMA request. Ive reset the bios. At the risk of fragging the bios I went as far to underclock the system to get it stable with both sticks of ram in it and reflashed the current v2.1 bios that been rock stable. No help. Ive ran the ram at 2.5-3-3-7. Also DDR 166/200 and HTT at 3 and 4. Single stick and two sticks at a time. Ive been testing with memtest v1.86 and v3.2. The v2.2 stick seems to throw errors faster than the v5.2 stick. Thank You Jeff Townsley
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 Let's get them replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them or it. But after you get the RMA you need to talk to our customer service and ask them if there is any way they can match your modules. This MB will not support mixing memory, both modules would need to be exactly matched in part# and revision. 888-222-4346 Ext "0"!
psyshack
Ram Guy Thanks for the help! Ive ran mixed sticks of other ram before in this MSI 7030 with no issues. The issues start if you try and fill all three slots. Then it falls apart in a hurry. The motherboard is single channel only. Over all it has been a excellent board, and very stable. Ive purchased a lot of Corsair ram over the years. This is the very first time Ive had any issues with your product. I asked in the online RMA for same part number a revision of ram per your statement. Will follow up with a phone call if you think its prudent. Thank You for your time. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 If you fill all three slots the memory frequency may need to be set to DDR200 or DDR333. That is a limitation of the memory controller.
