teza
Hi RamGuy Need some help with the above ram had this for some time and unable to find the reciept if I need it?(think I got it in 2005) everything was fine last week and all of a sudden my pc just kept turning off, I went on the hunt to find the problem as we all do and did hard drive tests to check they came back fine, also checked my cpu stress test thats ok my graphic cards are both new and seem to be fine tested with ntune. Now I came to test the ram and ran memtest and that came back with over 1200 errors wow I thought thats strange so I tested the ram again with the windows ram test that also came back with errors. I Downloaded the Western Digital hdd test for windows and that shuts my pc off straight away getting random crashes media player bombs out games bomb out internet explorer bombs out random dll crash error on start up sometimes dont boot etc (this is a clean windows install put that on yesterday just to make sure that it was not that ) please help stuck on my girlfriends laptop and its rubbish lol need my gaming rig back also the pc will stay on if I dont do anything but as soon as i try anything it turns off or crashes out then turns off??? Thanks in advance TEZA ps im in the uk
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2007 I would even set the voltage to 2.85 Volts if you still have problems, but I suspect the problem will be solved with a little more voltage. Please do let me know!

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 Yes that would suggest a possible power problem, can you test the system with another PSU?
