kakayo
Lately, I've been getting random crashes, some when playing games other when running apps. some are system crashes some are just program crashes. I believe most of the time it says refference to some number could not be found as if it were something in the ram that couldn't be found. So I ran memtest 165+. It completed one pass and then I changed the configuration of the test and it stops at 50% or 51%. it has something to do with the address and the memory setting all Bios or probed. Also when I ran a pc health program (vcom) it gave my an error at a certain address which I can't remember and I unistalled the program because it was messing up antivirus and firewall. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, though I understand I might not have given enough info, if more is needed I will find it somehow. Oh, BTW the memory is not running OC its @ 400mhz, bios settings are a pain and I'm not OC my processor.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to Cas 3-3-3-8, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
kakayo
will do, thank you for the note about disabling legacy usb, I will make sure that it is. and also thanks for the timings, I couldn't find them though sisandra posted the actual and the 466 timings when I ran a profile. I will check, as for the bios its the latest and I believe beta if i'm not mistaken. when I get back to my dorm I will do everything. thanks
