Redvan
Part # VS1GSDS400 I got 2x1gig PC3200 DDR400 SO-DIMM to upgrade from my 2x512 Keingston (mu haha! I beat the system :)). When I used the compatability tool to see what my system needs, it says I need part # CMSS1GB-400SOD Both are DDR400 200pin SO-DIMM. What is the difference? Redvan
My mainboard's ram slot says 2.5volt, the Value select memory I purchased says it operates at 2.6volt. Will it still work in my system?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2007 The VS Value Select and CMSS Systrem Select modules are functionally the same. CMSS parts are built with a restricted bill of materials deemed to provide the best compatibility with OEM systems. As such, we often do not have the capability to use low cost material. CMSS parts are guaranteed to be compatible. If there is a problem, we will work with you to fix it, or give you your money back if we can not. VS parts are guaranteed (with a lifetime warranty) to be good parts, but we do not guarantee compatibility with any particular systems. If a VS part does not work, it gets tested and either repaired or (usually) replaced with another VS part. I expect that the VS part will work correctly in your system, as long as you will not be mixing them with other memory. And, of course, Corsair's lifetime warranty is in full effect if it does not. Our confidence of first pass success is highest, however, with CMSS parts.
