Mistral
Hi there, I got a pair of CMX512-4400C25PT memory sticks, they have been running on my computer without a problem for the last three years, then two weeks ago I started to have random BSOD or it will crash while loging in into windows XP or whilst running any benchmark program or whenever it felt like pissing me off. I thought that it was a software program or a faulty driver and because I wanted to upgrade the motherboard and CPU, I decided to reinstall windows xp hoping that it will solve my problems, how wrong was I? I couldn't reinstall windows xp and 9 out of 10 I was getting BSOD's "page fault in non paged STOP: 0x00000050" I tried swapping the sticks around and nothing, but after a few hours reading the forums on my girlfriend laptop, I removed one of the sticks and now everything works perfectly!!! in fact I am posting this thread on my pc. Looking forwards to your reply.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2007 First thing, the MB you have does not give the option to set the memory Voltage or is known not to work properly with setting the memory Voltage and these modules have a minimum Suggested Voltage of 2.75 Volts. I would suggest testing the modules one at a time at Cass 3-3-3-8 not over clocked and see if the system will pass http://www.memtest.org.
Mistral
Hi RAM Guy, I tried one module at the time setting the ram voltage at low, normal, high and auto, and Cass 3-3-3-8. I used memtest, superpi and prime95 for testing. One of the modules run smoothly in all test, even with the ram voltage at low, but the other one gave me errors during memtest, windows crashed to BSOD and when running superpi or prime95 the test stops and shows "NO EXACT IN ROUND" I moved the faulty one to the other slot and repeated all test with no luck. Any ideas? Thank you.

Mistral
Hi there, Could you tell me how long it takes to process the RMA? I haven't receive it yet and also my motherboard supports up to DDRII667, but in the near future I will upgrade the mobo so I can run faster frequency ram. My question is, do I get DDRII667 now or do I buy a faster DDRII so it runs at a lower frequency with the current mobo, but once I get the new mobo it will able to run at full speed? I think the second option seems better, and cheaper. I am not overclocking at the moment, but I will once I get my hands in DRRII heaven. Which DDRII will you recommend? or shall I wait and keep using my DDR 400 for now? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you want to get? It will take 24-48 hours to get a reply excluding weekends and Holidays. If not please call them at 888-222-4346 Ext "0" or 510-657-8747 Ext "0". Mistral
Hi RAM Guy, the mobo I think of getting is the Asus Striker Extreme, but I want to wait until the price of the GeForce 8800 GTX drops or see how good is the new ATI R600. So, for the next few moths I will be using my ASRock 775Dual-VSTA. One question out of interest, is RAM Guy a team of technician or just one very talented guy? Cheers. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2007 I would suggest Twin2x2048-6400C4 for the most popular choice. But if you plan on over clocking I would get Twin2x2048-8888C4DF modules.
