Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 10, 2007 It will depend on the MB and CPU! Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2007 Do you have memory now workming in that MB? Or you want to replace what you have now? The modules you say you purchased should work fine in that MB! Shadowscar Recently i bought Corsair XMS2 PC2-5400 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-675 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit And for christmas i got some uncompatable ram that wont go with my computer in the first place so im replacing that with Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-5400C4 2GB 2X1GB PC5400 DDR2-667 CL 4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory But before i go ahead and order i wanna make sure that these two sets of ram will work together since i dont wanna go thru the hassle of return something again Any help is great thanks :)! Shadowscar
Do you have memory now workming in that MB? Or you want to replace what you have now? The modules you say you purchased should work fine in that MB! The Value select ram would not work in my computer :( it would boot run for about 15 minutes then crash... upon restart the motherboard would scream a bunch of beeps at us... Remove the Value select and it would work fine again, if you put it back in it would repeat the process stated above... The current ram i have inside is XMS Ram so could that be the cause of the conflict? as for the value select ram it has already been returned so im now wondering what ram should i get that would garentee work with my current ram? should i go for the exact same stuff as i have now and just live with 2 gigs or should i go for the 2 gig version of what i have now? Current Corsair XMS2 PC2-5400 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-675 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit So should i buy Corsair XMS2 PC2-5400 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-675 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit or Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-5400C4 2GB 2X1GB PC5400 DDR2-667 CL 4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory (basiclly i just dont wanna have to deal with the whole hassle of it not working with my machine :()
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 13, 2007 If you are mixing memory even the same part# but different revisions may cause this issue. And all of the modules should be exactly matched both in part# and revision with most currant MB's.

Current Corsair XMS2 PC2-5400 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-675 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit But you talk about Valuse Select in one of your posts/ Do you have 4 of these modules listed CM2X512A-5400C4? And what are the settings you have set in your Bios for CPU and memory?
