Brassman
I already had a thread on here asking about psu, i have infact bought a corsair 620w i fitted it and the pc started up fine everything was ok for 1-2 hours, then i woke the pc up to install a network adapter it came to life as per usual i installed the adapter and was asked to reboot, but when i went to reboot nothing at all no sound ,not even a fan runing, not even the extractor fan, checked plugs ,leads ,fuses etc nothing at all,so i fitted my old psu a hey presto back to normal, the psu must be faulty,do i send it back to where i bought it? or back to corsair?,any help much appreciated
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 10, 2007 Thats odd, did you try it agin in your system after to see if it will power on? Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them or it.
Brassman
Cheers for that i have not tried it in the pc again i was scared of maybe doing some damage ,it worked as soon as i fitted it then when i needed to re boot about 2 hours later it would not power at all no fans ,lights or sounds the fan on the psu didnt even spin, tried fuses ,everything. so i refitted my old psu and everything was ok straight away!!the reason for changing the psu in the first place is that i have fitted a SAPPHIRE X1950PRO AGP graphics card and it needs a constant 30a supply the 620w hx uk is more than capable of that ,i will use the RMA as you suggest. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2007 There should not be a problem, so please let me know when you get the new PSU.
Brassman
Cheers ,i have now sent the psu back to where i bought it from they will change it no problem, when i get the replacement am i correct with this wiring: looking at your jpeg(which rail is which) RED: is obviously for m/board ,cpu GREEN: cable to feed 1 molex on graphics card, hdd, dvd rom,cd-rw,floppy, BLUE : The other molex on the graphics card and case fans etc. and i use the long thin 5 pin sockets on the psu(i have no pci e)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2007 I am not sure what you are talking about as all of the wires are coauted with Black Shielding and if you have the wrong connector it will not fit.
