matthewblake
Last year, I bought a pair of Corsair memory modules (CMX1024-3200) for a system I administer. And one just recently died. The sytem had four total ddr400 1024 modules (only two were corsair, though), and the system started throwing some errors last week, and a short while later, wouldn't boot at all, throwing memory errors. Every configuration of slot swapping I've tried with any two of the other three modules seems to work fine, but whenever this particular module is in there, I get the errors. Everything else seems fine. I run McAffee anti virus and keep it up to date on XP patches and everything. If there's anything else I need to do to check this out, let me know. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then with just our modules, load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
matthewblake
BIOS is up to date, disabled legacy, and memtest.org verified that this one module is having problems, the paired module (I bought both together) works perfectly fine, it seems.
