Arbiter
Hi I am not good with the whole ram/motherboard stuff but i can follow directions easily  System Alienware Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Processor:AMD 64 FX Ram: Corsair 3200LL (2x 512) I want to put in CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel. Now someone told me to match the Lats and timing(chang if needed). For one, I dont know the info on the ram i have now. lat or timing. Second i dont know how to adjust that stuff. Can someone Tell me here or maybe PM me? I just want more ram 1G isnt enough. Also would I just be better to remove the old ram to not change timings or fill up the ram slots? Thank you in advance! DerekT
You will find far less possible issues if you run 2 X 1GB as opposed to 2 X 1GB + 2 X 512MB even when the timings are identical. A bandwidth speed drop and timings raise would very likely be the case and you would find very little storage benefit with the additional GB.
