Iron Chef
Ok, this is really wierd. After I installed my new HX 620W PSU, I powerd up my system and everything seemed perfect! But, after a while it seemed my HD was acting "sluggish". After a quick investigation I noticed my boot drive, which was Primary Master is now Third Master!! How the hell? I changed nothing in my system, the only thing i did was pull out the old psu connections, and replaced them with new ones....that's it! I am puzzled by this change, and after trying repeatedly to try to find a way to change it back, I am at a loss. my system is as follows... Intel Pentium 4, 3200 MHz (16 x 200) Asus P4C800-E Deluxe 1024 MB (2x512) Corsair CMX512-3200LL Western Digital 74 GB, 10000 RPM, SATA RAPTOR BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC Creative SB0350 Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card Lite On DVD ROM Lite On CDRW NETGEAR WG111T 108Mbps Wireless USB2.0 Adapter Any idea what could have caused this? More importantly, how I can remedy it? Thank You! :) -Iron Chef
benniebeeker
a similar issue happened to me... once i switched out the power supply, windows (and the bios) stopped recognizing one of my optical drives... i powered off the machine and moved the jumpers on the drives from cable select to one master and one slave (they share an IDE ribbon) once i rebooted, windows (and the bios) recognized everything again... i don't know what to tell you in your situation...
