dsmdan95
Hello I bought 2GB 60x SD card and it only shows 1GB (956.84 MB) on my Samsung SCH-i730 pda phone, hp photosmart camera and on my Mac. I,m running OSX 10.3.9 Is there anyway I can fix this? Also if i have to send it in roughly how long will it take? Thanks, Danny
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2007 Danny, Do you have access to a Windows System? If so please try and format the flash drive with this syntax from a command prompt and see if it is seen properly. Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them or it. dsmdan95
Tried formating it with a windows machine. Still shows 1gb. We formated by doing right click then format under fat32. is there another way to do it?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 5, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 5, 2007 Yes please try what I posted perviously! please try and format the flash drive with this syntax from a command prompt and see if it is seen properly. Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) If you still have problems, let’s get it replaced. Please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! gretel
Ok, hi! I've got a problem with my mini-sd card, it's 1gb and worked perfectly at first. Then it didn't! my device wich I used it for wouldn't read it anymore and my computer said it was not formated. Now, I did! However, it won't work with my device anymore since it's probably the wrong filesystem, can I type in the same lines in the comando-prompt and get it to work? Ah, yes I have been trying to find out what the original filesystem was but I can't find that information anywhere, don't know if it's nececarry either btw but I don't think the card is broken so It would be dumb just changing it or something. //Robert

gretel
Hi! Nope, neither of it did work, the results are the same as usual; works fine on my computer but my device(an homebrew utility for the nintendo ds console btw) still won't recognise it!:( //Robert
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2007 Then chances are the device you are having the problem with will not see that size or the USB Hub we are using and may need to have updated firmware. gretel
Well it seems like it doesen't work in digital cameras either after all, tested it again and now it says something like "Format Error!" and that it won't read the card. Could it be that it's dead after all? //Robert

andybray
I believe I have the same problem with a CMFSD60-2GB SD card. I have tried it on 2 different PCs and tried to format it either FAT or FAT-32 both from Windows Explorer and using the previous response using a MS-DOS command box and using the FORMAT /U command. Also, I have tried in an O2XDA Windows Mobile 5.0 device. All can happily read the card but will only format it to a capacity of 1GB (actually says 9xx Mb but pretty close to 1GB) and not 2GB. As I have followed the only recommended remedy without success can you ok the RMA process and do you generally find it better to do this direct with Corsair or via the reseller? It arrived today from Ebuyer. Their shipping normally takes about 5 days from order and so I can imagine that the return will probably take twice this time via them. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 8, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 8, 2007 I am sorry as I dont have any information about resellers shipping and or RMA process, but you are welcome to ask them and if needed you can do the RMA request directly with us, our average turn around time is 5-7 Bussiness days excluding holliday's I posted the link previously. fossean
Before you send your cards back, I suggest you try this utility to reformat: http://www.sdcard.org/about/downloads/ My Corsair 2Gb SD card x 133 was formatted in a camera (Casio P700 Exilim Pro) and afterwards only showed 9xx Mb usable space. Tried lots of things to fix it, but the utility above was the only thing that worked. Hope you have luck with it.

ajovev
i've got the same issue as the users above: minisd card 2gb corsair, suddenly shown as corrupt in my nokia n73 phone. i tried to format in a pc card reader - in windows utility - 970mb shown only, not 2gb, and also card cannot be formatted. I used that card for about 3 weeks. It seems the cards are defective. Tried to format it with : Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U command and also with the utility here http://www.sdcard.org/about/downloads/ , same problem. I will try the utility in another card reader. edit: in another card reader - internal in an hp laptop nc6320 - same problem. card is defect.
