xenogear74
hey all - So i have this 2gb set, and was originally running it on my DFI Expert motherboard. Periodically (completely random times) while running DVD's or Games the video would have a stutter every 5 seconds or the FPS would drop every 5 seconds. I was running the ram at 2.5-3-3-6 1T. I then switched the ram to my other rig, which has an Asus A8N-SLI Premium in it. I have the exact same timings and am now randomly getting stuttering again. I have changed the graphics card and the mobo, only the CPU and the ram is the same. I think I may have some faulty memory... help!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2007 PLease make sure that you have the latest bios and then set the tested settings Cas 2-3-3-6 at 2T Command Rate at 2.75 Volts and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to make sure one is not failing. xenogear74
thanks for the prompt response, i'll try it now. quick question though, I think i read that with 2 modules I should be able to run at 1t command rate? is the size causing the possible problems at 1t? Thanks!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2007 Maybe but Command Rate is not really a memory setting and would be dependant on the make and model of MB and PSU and the specific CPU you have installed. You might look this setting up on http://www.rojakpot.com and get a better explanation. I would find a stable starting point and go from there!
