misterdee
Hi, I purchased the Twinx 2x1GB matched-pair XMS3200 (TWINX2048-3200C2PT Platinum) for my ASUS socket 939 mobo (Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe) back in Jun 2006. The system was working fine until beginning of December 2006, and then (mid-use) it just crashed and reset. Then I received a message saying "Bad BIOS checksum" and could not boot. I repeatedly tried to re-flash the BIOS and also checked the CMOS chip, cleaned the contacts, reset it, tested the battery.... etc etc. After lots of research, I came to the conclusion that it was either the BIOS/CMOS itself, CPU or RAM. I have tested the system by swapping out the two RAM modules with other Corsair ones (2 x 512MB, 3200 C2 - these ones use the black heat spreaders) and the system boots fine. How do I obtain an RMA? Thanks.
misterdee
addendum: I should also have said, that I always ran the system without overclocking the RAM. It's a business machine so stability/reliability is paramount.
