Modular
Hi all. I purchased a 1GB kit of Corsair Valuram PC3200 from Newegg on 12-27-2005. My computer has been locking up sporadically when playing games recently, so I decided to run memtest. With the 2x512 installed memtest came up with an error that one stick couldn't hold values in the memory. I took one stick out and ran the test again for an hour and got over 3000% coverage with no error. I took that stick out and ran memtest on the other 512 stick. At 136% I got an error saying that the memory could not hold values. So I'm sure that stick is the culprit. The problem is that I am 4 days out of Newegg's RMA policy. I wanted to post here to begin my RMA process with Corsair. I believe these sticks have a lifetime warranty, right? Thanks.

And please try and load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts and test them one at a time again but you may need to disable legacy USB when running http://www.memtest.org. I just looked and I'm not sure what version it is. I downloaded it from guru3d if I remember correctly. It runs inside of the Windows environment (it's not a pre-boot version). I cannot change any memory timing/voltage through the BIOS as the machine the sticks are installed in is a Dell. I'll download the ISO and burn it to a CD. I'll post back with the results. Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2007 Let's get them replaced as long as you are not mixing them with other memory, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them or it. Modular
Great, thank you! I'll be sending in both 512 modules as they came in the VS1GBKIT400 kit. I was just going to post that I couldn't get an ISO burned properly onto a CD (I can only drag and drop with the garbage programs I have). This made my night a little easier. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2007 I would still test them with http://www.memtest.org to be sure as long as they are the only modules you have in the system I dont mind replacing them. But you should submit the RMA request for what you purchased IE 1 VS1GBKit and send both modules.
