DerekT
Set the other ram in and boot. Enter your BIOS and set your DRAM voltage to 2.1v. Shut the system down and install the new DRAM. Restart.
Barnsley-Bill
Hi mate ive tried that and when i set it to 2.1v it shows red so i shutdown replaced the ram with the Dominator ram and started back up and its still the same 1 long bios beep. DerekT
Are you overclocking at all? If you had this issue with the 6400 and the 8500 then I suggest this is an issue with the motherboard since these DRAM modules use very different chips. To have the same issue with two such different modules very likely means that your board has issues with these higher quality DRAMS. I would look to RMA the board. Barnsley-Bill
No ive not tried overclocking wish i could lol but I was thinking along the same lines i can't see both pairs of ram being faulty im going to ring scan up when they open and take my system built up so they can see for themselfs with both sets of memory . thanks again for your help. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2007 I would suggest 2.2 Volts at 667 MHz and go from there! But you should be able to get them at Cas 4-4-4-12 at 667 MHz with 4 up.

Barnsley-Bill
this is what mine comes up with . http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o38/barnsley-bill/?action=view¤t=memsettings.jpg
DerekT
if i go above 1.95v in the memory voltage it shows as red not white is this ok ? Yes, that is normal. You are above the standard voltage settings for the JEDEC standards but your DRAM is far above those standards. Don't worry with this. this is what mine comes up with . http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o38/barnsley-bill/?action=view¤t=memsettings.jpg You have dropped speed but your timings are still very good. This is what RAMGUY stated would happen. You are still doing very well as 4GB can sometimes be problematic.
