semle
Hi everyone. I just bought a corsair memory kit VS2GBKIT400C3. Before I did this I checked corsairs hompage so it would be compatible with my moterboard Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. They should match according to their site. What happens is that sometimes I get memory adressing problems after booting windows and then suddenly the machine reboots. And the other times it just reboots before windows continues loading. Ive tested using dual ddr:s and just a single one(both been tested). I get the same result anyway. If I plug in an old samsung ddr everything works perfectly. There is no chanse to run a memory test since the computer doesnt run that long before it reboots itself. I have 650W PSU so that should be enough. I also tried so set the voltage in bios to 2.75 as I read in one thread on the forum. I use latest bios 1016. Any ideas? Appriciate any input! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
semle
Hi again. I didnt read the manual carefully enough when testing the modules one by one. When running just one module it should be placed in slot B1 and not A1, my bad. The result when doing it right was that one module passed memtest just fine and the other one spits out errors faster than I can read :-) . So what will I do now ramguy? Do I have to send both modules to corsair or only the faulty one? They came in pair and I want to run them in dual-channel. Thanks for youre support!
