ERage85
Looking to buy this stick of RAM but I can't find if this is non-ECC or unbuffered ECC. Anyone know? As a bonus question, is registered ECC the same as unbuffered ECC in terms of compatibility?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2006 CMX1024-3200C2 is Non ECC un-buffered memory. As a bonus question, is registered ECC the same as unbuffered ECC in terms of compatibility? No most desk top or workstation MB's only take Un-buffered memory and most server MB's will only support Buffered memory. I would suggest watching the Memory Basics Presentation to get a better understanding of this!
