gallatin
I have two of these modules in my secondary PC, and one of them has started showing memtest errors (after crashing and hanging the system, reporting program errors and similar stuff) Testing was done on Lanparty UT SLI-DR motherboard with a built in memtest86+. Do I return them or what? Thanks for all the help Module info: CMX256A-3200LLPT XMS3205v1.1 0304023 XMS3200 256MB 400 MHz 2226-T1 P.S. I have ''scouted'' the RMA form, and it says something about a Module Part Number. Which of the one listed above is it? EDIT: I was reading other posts and i saw you were asking people some details I tested the modules on DFI, using a 4400+ CPU (only one i have for s939). Settings were default by SPD, CPU clock was default, FSB 200. System simptoms include random restarts, BSODs, and program crashes.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, (Cas 2-3-2-6 with the Ras to Cas set to "3") and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

The thing is, the DFI motherboard was just for memtest, and the system problems occurred both on it and on an ASUS P4C800 (the board in the PC i use this RAM in). Errors and problems appear only on one of the modules, the other one is fine. I did what you asked, manually set the voltage and timings, and errors are still there, so i filled an RMA form. But i couldn't find the Serial Number anywhere on the modules, so i'm guessing there isn't one. P.S. Why is the memory sticker labeeld 2226, and the LL timings are 2326? This memory uses BH-5 chips, right?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2006 The timings were relaxed to Cas 2-3-2-6 later because there were some MB's that would not run well with the Ras to Cas set to "2", and you are correct there may not be a SN# just ignore it or use N/A!
