geekborg
This one is a weird one, when I spend a bit of time in the BIOS - just going through the settings. I find that sometimes my computer will lock up, I press keys on my keyboard and nothing changes on the BIOS screen and only a hard reset brings it back. Yet I'm in Windows Vista now - did a Memory Check Diagnostic and the computer is completely stable and reliable. Really weird! Some info from DXDiag: ----------------------- System Information ----------------------- Time of this report: 12/22/2006, 08:31:55 Machine name: **************** Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: INTEL_ System Model: DG965RY_ BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel® Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz Memory: 3318MB RAM Page File: 1171MB used, 5644MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode This seems to occur most often when I browse through the Hardware Monitoring part of the BIOS but many times when I check the RAM Configuration part of the BIOS too. :[pouts: And I am running the very latest BIOS. DerekT
This sounds as though you have a mainboard issue. Set your BIOS to Defalt settings. Does this issue repeat?
geekborg
This sounds as though you have a mainboard issue. Set your BIOS to Defalt settings. Does this issue repeat? The only things I have disabled in the BIOS are: Serial Port Parallel Port Floppy Disk Controller Should changing any of those have made a difference? Perhaps its a memory setting? DerekT
Set your BIOS to default settings. You haven't been in your advanced settings? Where you set the jumper to get into? After you have set to default, then disable the floppy if you haven't one and leave all else default. Does this issue remain?
