yury
Hello Corsair Support Team! I have obtained Intel DG965WH and Core 2 duo 6400. Now I want to obtain 2 Gb memory for my new PC. On this forum you recommend VS2GBKIT667D2 for this motherboard. I have seen recently in "Technical Product Specification to Intel Desktop Board DG965WH" on p.16: "Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported". I think that your VS2GBKIT667D2 has the same organization: Double-sided 16 chip (8 chip on each side). I have asked Intel Tech support about this type of memory and they answered me: "To be 100% sure, we checked and confirmed that double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported (see http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/wh/wh_mem.htm#1 as well); We remind you that the operation of any Intel-manufactured product outside the published specifications for each part can result in data corruption and unreliable system behavior" At the same time, I have noticed Foxconn successfully tested some 2Rx8 memory modules for DG965WH motherboard: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/EN-US/upload/Compatibility/2006081307515239799657AAMemory.htm If this Intel's DS x16 DIMM limitation belongs to 965 chipset in general then why Foxconn tests this unsupported by Intel type of memory modules? I do not also understand the next Intel mismatching information, for instance for 975xbx motherboard: http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/bx2/bx2_mem.htm On that page Intel says: "Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported" and on the same page also (see table): "Supported DIMM Configurations " 1024 MB DS 512 Mbit 64 M x 8/64 M x 8 16 [18] What can you say about this mismatching information and what your advise about VS2GbKIT667D2? Thank you very much! Yury
