Bad module

I recently received some RAM TWIN2X2048-6400C4D and am having some problems with it. First was an obvious black mark on one of the RAM pins when it was taken out of the package. It is only on one module not both. I figured that I would give it a try and see if it would atleast work. I put the modules in started up - fresh system so i had to adjust the bios and do new install of windows. I followed the Corsair Labs Performance Report #13655 - 10/3/2006 for the Asus P5n32-sli se deluxe with Corsair twin2x2049-6400c4d as this is the exact same system that i am running. When i use both of the modules the system will try and install windows but then it will crash to a bsod when trying to install. I have tried it multiple times. When I remove the module that has the little black mark on it then the system will run fine and windows installs without issue. So i figured I would test it with something else - games. I tried to install WOW and the system crashed when both modules are in. Take out the one with the mark and it works perfectly. Was just wanting to post to get some advice - possible RMA?

thanks

Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
