d-rick
hi, i need to upgrade my Dimension 8400's PS from the stock 350w PS to a new one that is a min of 450w. I like the idea of using Corsairs cmpsu-520hx due to it's high efficiency rating, but want to make sure it is compatible and will fit into my chassis. has anyone done this before? DerekT
The Dimension 8400 uses standard wiring harnesses so the connections will fit with no issues, but often these standard PSU's do NOT match up easily and sometimes you need to modify the case a bit with tin snips. DerekT
Yes, the dimensions will fit, and yes I am speaking of the area where the power cord exits. These PSU's do not follow the longer dimensions of some newer power supplies. They are standard. :)
