Computeruser
I currently own a HP Pavilion zd8000 notebook which still has the 2x512mb ram sticks that it shipped with (PC2-4200S, according to the labels on them). I am considering buying a Corsair ValueSelect 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) ram stick to replace one of the 512mb ram currently in my notebook, but I want to be sure that I won't be damaging my notebook in any way. Will this Corsair ram stick be compatible with one of the factory-shipped ram sticks in my notebook, or would I have to completely remove both ram sticks from my notebook if I wanted to add the 1gb Corsair ram? From what I understand, the Corsair ram stick I mentioned should be compatible with my notebook itself, but I have no idea if it would work in conjunction with the already included ram.
